No Gym, No Problem!
First and foremost, get rid of the notion that you need a pricey gym membership to maintain a certain level of fitness, because that is not the case.
As I mentioned in my 100 Days of Sobriety post, I started dancing again! But other than my time in the studio and the occasional pilates reformer class, I do not have a gym membership and I seldom workout in one. Don’t get me wrong, a gym is a great place to get yo fitness on and can be a good source of motivation as well, but it’s not the ONLY place. I’m a huge proponent for a good ol’ outdoor workout sesh! When I’m not dancing, I get my daily workouts in by running around my neighborhood, climbing the stairs at the Baldwin Hills Overlook, hiking my favorite trail at Griffith Park or a sunrise jog on the Venice Beach boardwalk. I highly recommend getting outside to workout whenever you have the opportunity, even if it’s just brisk 20 minute walk followed by a quick ab circuit! It’s so refreshing taking the fresh air into your lungs and getting your daily dose of vitamin D, while you’re working out! I try to do an outdoor workout every morning, and I swear the days I don’t I’m all thrown off.
